WHO CAN PARTICIPATE IN THE FESTIVAL
Everybody can take part in the Festival both natural persons (individually or in a group), and recognized or unrecognized associations and legal entities (organizations, schools, didactic circles, film productions companies etc.).
Participation in the Festival is completely free.
All costs i.e. the shipping of the works, travel, transportation, accommodation, meals and any other kind of costs are entirely at the expense of the participants.
THE OFFICIAL SECTION
The festival consists of 2 sections:
Adult Section: to take part in this section you must be over 26 years old. The age of twenty-six must be reached by August 10, 2018.
Youth Section: this section is dedicated to those who are aged between 14 and 25. The age of fourteen must be reached by August 10, 2018.
The distinction between Adult and Youth Section will be based on the age of the Director of the short film. In any case, the participation of schools will go to the youth section;
WEB SPECIAL SECTION
The festival also consist of another section, called “Web Special Section” and those who take part in the Adult or Youth Section can also participate in this category with the same works presented in the former sections or with other works, provided that they do not exceed a total number of three. To join in this section the participants have to fill in this form and send all the material by 10 august 2018, following the same instructions valid for the other sections.
All participants expressly accept that their short film will be made public online on YouTube, on AdolescenDay channel, from which it will be removed when the voting is concluded. We will publish all submitted, provided that the contents are not violent, contrary to morality or the common feeling according to the final decision of the Selection Commission.
For each work the organization will assign an image which will be posted on the Facebook page of AdolescenDay and that will include the film’s title, the name of the Director and the poster or picture, or frame requested in paragraph 3 let. a) of this regulation.
The Organization shall not be liable for any
problems that may occur (e.g: those related to the connection, loading of votes, etc.) and/or Facebook moderators actions not related to the will of the organization.
The Special Web Prize will be given to the short film that has collected the highest number of interactions on the related image, from September 6 at 12:00 to the day before the final at 22:00. All Facebook reactions will be valid (likes, love, angry, etc.), both on the original post and on shared posts.
To take part in the Web Section the minimum age is 14. The age of fourteen must be reached by August 10, 2018.
Minors must have their parents sign the documents as well, enclosing copies of their identity documents.
You can subtitle the short film in English and Italian.
In that case, the short film will have to be subtitled in post production and be submitted already completed.
However, the absence of subtitles will not prevent the participation in the Web Section.
TYPE OF WORKS
Only short films produced from January 2016 to May 2018 will be considered for selection.
The duration of the works must not exceed 30′, including end credits;
The works can be on any topic, anyway, works that are excessively violent or likely to disturb public sensitivity will be excluded, and for the evaluation of the works, the social character may receive particular attention; every participant can compete with up to maximum three works.
SUBMISSION AND SHIPPING OF MATERIAL
Works must be sent by email by 10 august 2018 at the following address: firstname.lastname@example.org. the work must be in .avi, .mov, .m4v, .mkv format and should be read with VLC. The work can be sent also by vimeo link, with all the credential for login and download.
All works must be subtitled in English; for the purposes of the vote of the audience, you could also subtitle in Italian foreign short films;
The works must be accompanied by:
• Registration form
• The attached disclaimer
• maximum two minutes video presentation of the work itself
• the flyer, if any, or an image of frame representative of the short film
Application forms must be completed and signed by whom holds the rights of ownership on the work. The signatory takes full responsibility for the veracity of their statements and expressly releases the Festival Organization from any requests of third parties which, for some reason, were to claim copyright on the work and/or on the music used and/or on other parts and elements of it. The Organization of the Festival could institute legal proceedings under civil or criminal laws, for each false and/or mendacious declaration stated by the signatory.
THE WHOLE MATERIAL HAS TO BE SENT AT THE SAME TIME AS THE WORK WITH ONE EMAIL AT THE ADDRESS email@example.com BY 10 AUGUST 2018. PLEASE QUOTE IN THE SUBJECT THE TITLE OF THE WORKS AND THE SECTION.
FINALISTS AND AWARDS
The finalists will be chosen on the basis of technical film criteria by a special selection Committee, other than the Technical Jury which will award the prizes during the final event.
The prizes awarded will be:
Best short film Adult Section: Prize worth € 500,00, assigned at the incontestable discretion
of the Technical Jury;
Best short film Youth Section: Prize worth € 250,00, awarded at the incontestable discretion of the Technical Jury;
Best Story: Prize awarded by the Technical Jury, to the best story among the short film finalists, without distinction between Adult and Youth Section;
Best Actor/Actress: Prize awarded by the Technical Jury to the best actor or best actress among the short film finalists, without distinction between Adult and Youth Section;
Best Director: Prize awarded by the Technical Jury among the short film finalists, without distinction between Adult and Youth Section.
Audience Award: the prize will be awarded by the vote of the audience in the hall during the projection in the final event.
The audience will express their preference on the card that will be given to them at the opening of the event. The award will be given to only one between the two sections. The work which collects the most votes will win.
The final will be held on the last week of September 2018, at the Galleria Cinema, in Bari, Italy). The day of the event will be announced on the event site www.adaymovies.it
The Organization reserves the right to communicate any changes, in the schedule, venue and date in time to the competitors and, in particular, to the finalists.
